How LONG DOES A COUNSELLING SESSION LAST?

Our sessions will be 50minutes. Occasionally, you may wish to have a longer session, which we can discuss together.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

This is most easily determined in our first session. There is no prescribed length of time to work together, but it can be helpful to agree to a framework in the first session. This gives you an opportunity to reflect, review and decide how you wish to move forward.

HOW MUCH DOES EACH SESSION COST?

$140.

(I happily reserve spaces for those with financial limitations. As at May 2024, these spaces are currently filled, but please reach out for further discussion if desired).

WhY counselling?

As a registered counsellor, I am trained to work collaboratively with people in all different life stages, using tools specific modified to your needs. While I do not diagnose, I work to understand your relationship to any diagnosed or non-diagnosed symptoms.

As a registered counsellor, I am ethically bound to undertake regular clinical supervision and professional development. This ensures I continue to provide suitable and informed care for you.

LBGTQI-FRIENDLY?

I welcome diversity in all its forms. For convenience & comfort I provide gender neutral facilities.

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a GP referral. However, should you wish to claim through your private health fund, I suggest checking their specific requirements.

CAN I CLAIM THROUGH MEDICARE OR PRIVATE HEALTH FUND?

Some private health funds will cover your counselling sessions. Please check with the health cover you have to see if you are entitled to be reimbursed by them.

You might consider speaking with your HR department at work as some companies will enable financial support toward counselling also.

A receipt will be provided at the end of each session should you wish to claim from the health insurer.

Medicare do not cover counselling sessions.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In keeping with other services you will be charged the cost of the session should you cancel with less than 24hrs notice. Each appointment we book is a slot another client may have needed, but practically it is difficult to fill a space with short notice. Thank you for your understanding.
